Insurance

Please check our following list of frequently asked questions before contacting us, it may save you time:

Basic insurance is included in the supplier rate displayed. However, in the event of damage been done to your vehicle, each supplier has a damage excess fee which varies for each supplier and is approximately AUD$4,500.00 - $8,250.00 (please use as a guide). This is the amount the supplier will charge if there is damage done to their vehicle under your care. Costs are covered in excess of the damage fee amount. When you have chosen a vehicle and supplier, supplier details are displayed at the top of their Terms and Conditions of rental "Included in this quote". Their terms will display the excess fee specific to that supplier. An excess reduction can be purchased from your vehicle supplier at the time of collecting your vehicle, so as to ensure you have a worry and stress-free rental. There are generally varying levels of protection offered by suppliers ranging from reducing the excess through to full protection packaging. Full protection will cost you in the vicinity of AUD$30 per day (use as a guide). If you are unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident and damage your rental vehicle, the supplier will charge up to the damage excess fee on the contract, irrespective of your own personal cover.  Excess reduction is not compulsory in Australia, but rather an optional extra offered to you when you collect your vehicle. Please be aware that if you have personal insurance, ie, you have organised your own cover or travel insurance, this is not taken into account by suppliers.

Will I need a Credit Card when I pick up my Minibus?
You do not require a credit card to confirm your reservation with Minibushiresydney.com. However, you will require a credit card when the minibus is collected. You are required to have a credit card, and the credit card owner, in order to sign the Rental Agreement when collecting your vehicle. The terms and conditions on the booking page will display the rental requirements of your supplier, noting that conditions vary between suppliers. Avis and Hertz will accept debit cards, but not pre-paid cards, with the Visa/Mastercard emblem at most locations. This excludes any luxury fleet bookings. Budget and Thrifty will accept debit cards (also not prepaid cards) with the Visa/Mastercard emblem embossed on them at most major locations. This excludes luxury fleet bookings, which may require an additional bond upfront. Europcar will accept debit card in limited circumstances on some standard passenger vehicles but not luxury, speciality or minibus / minivans). Payment by debit card requires a bond to be paid at the start of the rental, which is refunded on return if there is no damage to the vehicle. Europcar states if payment is by Debit card, the renter must also reduce their loss damage waiver. https://www.minibushiresydney.com recommend that you always refer to the supplier terms and conditions to clarify their specific requirements.
